I started my love of recreation as a swimmer & did junior life guarding & then started working as a lifeguard at 16. I never thought I would work in the field as a profession but here I am- thanks to my time at the University of Arizona. During graduate school I finally decided to work in Campus Recreation. In undergrad I choose the library. It was at this time that I realized the potential for jobs in recreation. I attended my first NIRSA in 2000. I left Arizona for a coordinator position in facilities at Cal, was quickly promoted to the director of recreation operations and guest services and then two years later landed the Director of Recreation position at SCU. I have been at Santa Clara since June 2002.
