Val works closely with the NIRSA Championship Series committee and NSC board, to promote and manage the NIRSA National/Regional tournaments which includes tennis, soccer, flag football and basketball.
Val works closely with the United States Tennis Association to promote their USTA Tennis On College Campus program. She is the tournament director for the USTA TOC National Championship and the NIRSA National Soccer Championships.
Valerie volunteers for a mentoring group to help produce a running event. She has completed an Ironman triathlon, which includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2-mile run. Before a career in sports management, she worked for 16 years as an exercise physiologist. Valerie was the series administrator for the United States Triathlon Series in 1998 and was a consultant for the Lance Armstrong Foundation "Rides for the Rose" in 1999 before joining the NIRSA team.
